Bouldering is a fun and challenging sport, but not without risks of injuries. We offer you a bouldering facility where you can climb and fall safely. However, you are solely responsible for your own actions when climbing, falling, and jumping off. Do not do anything that makes you feel unsafe, and do not hesitate to alert others of unsafe situations. In order to ensure that everyone can participate in sports safely and responsibly at Kei Boulderhal, we have house rules/safety rules in place and we appeal to your own responsibility. The house rules and general terms and conditions are posted in the bouldering gym, are available on our website, and obtainable at the reception/bar.
General:
- All (climbing)visitors must check-in at the reception upon arrival and check-out when leaving.
- Visitors to Kei Boulderhal take not of the content of the house rules and general terms and conditions. Anyone who wishes to use the sports facilities offered by Kei Boulderhal explicitly agrees to the house rules and general terms and conditions by signing the one-time registration form.
- Get changed in the designated dressing rooms.
- Follow the instructions of the staff.
- No glassware or tableware outside the bar.
- Smoking is prohibited.
- Reservations are mandatory for groups of more than 4 people.
House rules / safety rules for bouldering:
- We have age restrictions for our visitors:
- 13 years and older: You may boulder independently.
- 9 to 12 years: Bouldering is allowed only under direct supervision of an adult guardian (18+). Maximum 2 children per guardian.
- 0 to 8 years: No access to the bouldering walls and mats. An exception can be made for 7 and 8-year-olds at Kei De Hoef (more information in article 3.3).
- Use of training walls and training racks is not allowed for youth under 18 years without supervision of a coach or permission from the staff.
Boulder safely and responsibly:
- Climbing on top of the walls and blocks is prohibited, except for the top-out block at Kei De Hoef.
- Do not use structural elements, such as roof beams or pillars, for climbing.
- Running, lying around, or playing on the mats is not allowed.
- Wait for your turn and keep a sufficient distance (1.50 m) from climbers on the wall to avoid getting hit during a fall or dynamic movement.
- Make sure you know the proper falling technique. Watch the video on our website and/or ask our staff for a tutorial.
- Ensure that you can safely jump off from any position.
- Practice jumping off and catching your fall regularly.
- Warm up before you start bouldering.
- Do not wear jewelry or other objects on your body.
- Do not consume alcohol before or during exercise.
Keep it clean and tidy:
- No outdoor shoes on the mat.
- Bouldering barefoot or in socks is not allowed.
- No chalk bags or hard objects in the fall zone or on your body.
- Use chalk sparingly.
- Wearing socks in rental shoes is mandatory.
- Bouldering shirtless is prohibited for hygiene and comfort reasons on the mats.
- Cleaning the holds improves grip; use the cleaning brushes provided in the gym.
General Terms and Conditions Article 1 | Definition
- ‘Kei Boulderhal’ is the umbrella trade name of two sports facilities, namely Kei Boulderhal Amersfoort Wagenwerkplaats B.V. and Kei Amersfoort De Hoef B.V., operated at Soesterweg 314 in Amersfoort and Databankweg 12-K in Amersfoort, both statutorily based in Amersfoort.
- Visitors, as defined in these general terms and conditions, are all natural persons who make use of the described premises.
- Active visitors, as defined in these general terms and conditions, are visitors who make use of the offered sports facilities at the address Soesterweg 314 and/or Databankweg 12-K. Active visitors must be registered in the membership database of Kei Boulderhal before they are allowed to use the sports facilities.
Article 2 | Safety
- Active visitors are obliged to familiarize themselves with the house rules and general terms and conditions of Kei Boulderhal, which are located at the reception and in the immediate vicinity of the bouldering facilities, before using the sports facilities. In case of any ambiguity regarding these regulations or their compliance, visitors are obligated to seek clarification from the available staff before using the provided facilities.
- Violation of the house rules may result in removal from Kei Boulderhal and/or the corresponding premises. Immediate termination of Kei Boulderhal membership may also occur without the right to reimbursement of access or membership fees.
- Active visitors undertake to only use the facilities if their health condition is optimal and their fitness is sufficient to engage in the offered sports activities.
- Active visitors are responsible not only for their own safety but also for the safety of others while using the facilities.
- The safety rules are described in the ‘bouldering house rules’.
Article 3 | Access
- Every active visitor who wants to use the offered sports facilities must register at the reception during their first visit and thereby declare acceptance of the house rules, safety regulations, and general terms and conditions. They may receive a copy of the completed registration form if desired.
- Every active visitor must report to the reception before the start of the sports activities at all times.
- Children under 9 years old are not allowed access to the mats and bouldering walls and therefore cannot actively participate in sports activities at Kei Boulderhal. An exception is the keiklub group of 7 and 8-year-olds at Kei De Hoef or experienced boulderers who boulder with a 7 or 8-year-old at Kei De Hoef under pre-signed conditions and written permission from Kei Boulderhal. Conditions and permission can be obtained via [email protected].
- Active visitors aged 9 to 12 years have access to the bouldering facilities only under direct supervision of at least one adult visitor who signs the registration form. We limit the number of children to a maximum of two per supervisor.
- Independent bouldering is allowed from the age of 13.
- Every visitor must be able to provide identification.
- Kei Boulderhal is entitled to independently determine the opening hours and limit the duration of visits.
Article 4 | Removal and Exclusion
- Visitors who, in the opinion of the staff of Kei Boulderhal, do not comply with the general terms and conditions, safety regulations, and/or house rules, or behave in a manner that endangers order, concentration, or safety, may be immediately removed once.
- In case of repeat offenses, Kei Boulderhal may decide to exclude the visitor. The permanently removed or excluded visitor is not entitled to a refund of membership or admission fees.
Article 5 | Liability
- Kei Boulderhal is not liable for damages suffered by visitors as a result of theft or loss within or around the premises.
- Kei Boulderhal is also not liable for damages caused by visitors (in part) due to limited physical condition or health of the visitor when using the sports facilities, while they should have realized that it was irresponsible given their physical condition.
- Kei Boulderhal is also not liable for damages caused by defects and/or deficiencies of the visitor’s own bouldering equipment.
- Similarly, damage resulting from violations of these general terms and conditions and/or safety regulations by the visitor does not lead to any liability on the part of Kei Boulderhal.
- Unless providing instructions to visitors, staff members of Kei Boulderhal have limited responsibility for ensuring visitors’ safety, and therefore Kei Boulderhal accepts limited liability in this regard.
- Kei Boulderhal accepts liability for damages suffered by visitors that are proven to be a result of a defect in the materials provided by Kei Boulderhal, unless this material defect cannot be attributed to Kei Boulderhal.
- In some cases, Kei Boulderhal provides services in the form of instructions. Kei Boulderhal is not liable for damages caused by the acts or omissions of subordinates or attributable in whole or in part to those subordinates, unless there is intent or gross negligence on the part of the subordinate.
- If Kei Boulderhal should be liable for any reason, such liability can only lead to compensation to the extent covered by the insurance of Kei Boulderhal and up to the maximum amount payable under that insurance. If the insurer of Kei Boulderhal, despite the coverage, does not proceed to payment to the injured party, or if the insurer is not obliged to pay due to a non-insured attributable failure of Kei Boulderhal, the liability of Kei Boulderhal is limited to a maximum of €10,000 per event.
Article 6 | Applicable General Terms and Conditions
- These General Terms and Conditions apply from the moment of the date indicated at the bottom, which coincides with the moment of publication. Kei Boulderhal is entitled to change these general terms and conditions at any time. The new conditions take effect immediately upon publication and do not affect previously acquired visitor rights, except for renewed memberships and after the expiration of the membership.
